How to Deal with the Diesel Engine Hot Start Failure?

The diesel engine cold start is good, but the engine stalls after the temperature rises for a period of time, and it is difficult to restart under that situation. What is the reason of this faulty and how to solve it? Let us to discuss it here.

What is the main reason which cause the engine start failure?

It is mainly caused by severe wear of the plunger of the fuel injection pump and the needle valve of the injector. When a hot car starts, due to the high temperature of the fuel injection pump and fuel filter, the fuel viscosity decreases, and the starting speed is low, most of the diesel oil leaks from the worn gaps, resulting in insufficient starting fuel and unable to start.

How to solve this problem?

The emergency elimination method is: put the car in gear and start by dragging other cars. Use the vehicle speed to drive the engine to rotate at a high speed, so that the diesel oil is too late to leak to ensure the starting fuel supply. This method is not recommended, because the pressure in the cylinder of the Cummins supercharged engine is relatively large, and the impact force on the connecting parts when the trailer starts is large, which affects the vehicle Service life.

Seconldy, when the plunger pair or the needle valve pair is severely worn, it should be replaced with a new one after inspection and debugging on the fuel injection pump test bench.

After that, hope that you already briefly knowing this problem and can realize what should you do when meet this kind of problem.
